The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, met in <br />adjourned session on Friday, February 11, 1972 at 11:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman - S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> Commissioners - Robert A. McClary <br /> C. Frank'James <br /> Charles Gallimore <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> The three bids on a new countywide law enforcement communications <br />system were reviewed and discussed. Jerry Myers, Director of the Central <br />Piedmont Planning Agency was present, along with Bill Cheek, equipment <br />expert of the Governor's Committee on Law and Order. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Hammett moved to accept Motorola bid, contingent on <br />receipt of a letter from the Law and Order Committee, stating that <br />Federal funds are available for the project; also, that we negotiate <br />a maintenance and warranty contract. The motion was seconded by Gallimore <br />and carried. <br /> <br /> Gallimore made motion, seconded by McClary and carried, to adopt <br /> <br />a resolution for participation by qualified housing owners in the Federal <br />Rent Supplement Program. <br /> <br /> The program will involve a 100-unit apartment complex near Royal Oaks <br />for iow income families who are elderly, handicapped, displaced or living <br />in sub-standard housing.
