Wade <br /> Clerk to the Board, Acting <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session at the <br />Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina, on August 24, 1973 at 9:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman - S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Robert A. McClary <br /> Charles Gallimore <br /> C. Frank James <br /> John Hammett <br /> <br /> The Board received and opened bids for furnishing five (5) ambulances to Cabarrus County. <br />The following bids were received: <br /> <br /> Crain Garage M-M Sales <br /> Marietta, Georgia $49,266.60 <br /> <br /> Murphy Manufacturing Company <br /> Wilson, N.C. 79,958.90 <br /> <br /> Star-Line Enterprises, Inc. <br /> Sanford, Florida 52,965.00 <br /> <br /> Superior Coach Sales Company <br /> Greensboro, N.C. 62,555.00 <br /> <br /> International Harvester Company <br /> Charlotte, N.C. 75,166.70 <br /> <br /> Motion by McClary, seconded by Gallimore to accept the bid submitted by Crain Garage <br />M-M Sales, pending written approval from the Governor's Highway Safety Program. Vote carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Polk, Mt. Pleasant Police Commissioner, and Sheriff J. B. Roberts appeared <br />before the Board and presented a resolution requesting an additional deputy for Mt. Pleasant. <br />The additional deputy would be funded by a FeCeral grant. Motion by McClary, seconded by <br />James to adopt the resolution. Vote was unanimous. This resolution is recorded on page 235 <br />and becomes a part of these minutes. <br /> <br /> Having no further busiress, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> William R.
