The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special session <br /> <br />at the Courhtouse in Concord, North Carolina on Thursday, October 17, 1974, at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Present - Chairman: S. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Charles Gallimore <br /> C. Frank James <br /> John A. Hammett <br /> <br /> Absent - Commissioner: Robert A. McClary <br /> <br /> The Board accepted and opened bids for the food contract for the Nutrition for <br /> <br />the Elderly Program. The bids were as follows: <br /> <br />Ted O'Neal Restaurant $1.60 per meal <br />Margaret's Grill $1.50 per meal <br />Two Flag's Consession Stand $1.25 per meal <br />Commissioner Gallimore made motion to award the bid to the lowest bidder subject to <br />state and local health authorities and if not approved the bid will progress to the <br />next low bid subject to the funding of this project. Motion seconded by Commissioner <br />James and vote unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The Board decided not to allow a payroll deduction for the United Way this year. <br />William R. Wade, County Administrator, reported that the Library Board <br />decided to ask the Commissioners to set up the $19,000.00 appropriation as a reserve <br />account and possibly appropriate another $9,000.00 in the next fiscal budget to <br />obtain the approximate purchase price of $28,000.00. <br /> <br /> Having~no futher business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
