<br />July 8, 2006 (Special Meeting) <br /> <br />Page <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special <br />session in the Multipurpose Room at the Cabarrus County Governmental Center <br />in Concord, North Carolina on Saturday, July 8, 2006, at 9:00 a.m. The <br />purpose of the meeting was to conduct a Closed Session in accordance with <br />North Carolina General Statute (NCGS) 143-318.11(a) (6) to consider the <br />qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, conditions of <br />initial employment of an individual public officer or employee or prospective <br />public officer or employee for the position of County Attorney. <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: Robert W. Carruth <br />Vice Chairman: Joni D. Juba <br />Commissioners: Carolyn B. Carpenter <br />Robert M. Freeman <br />Coy C. Privette <br /> <br />Also present were John D. Day, County Manager; and Kay Honeycutt, <br />Deputy Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br />Chairman Carruth called the meeting to order at 9:07 a.m. <br /> <br />Closed Session <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of vice Chairman Juba, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session in accordance <br />with North Carolina General Statute (NCGS) 143-318.11 (a) (6) to consider the <br />qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, conditions of <br />initial employment of an individual public officer or employee or prospective <br />public officer or employee for the position of County Attorney. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Freeman, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of Closed Session. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board adjourned the meeting at 12:20 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />
