272 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special <br />session in Conference Room A located on the second floor of the Governmental <br />Center in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, August 2, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. <br />The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a closed session to discuss matters <br />relating to the location or expansion of industries or other businesses in <br />Cabarrus County as authorized by North Carolina General Statute 143- <br />318.11 (a) (4). <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: Jeffrey L. Barnhart <br /> Vice-Chairman: Arne L. Fennel <br /> Commissioner: Sue B. Casper <br />Absent Commissioners: Carolyn B. Carpenter <br /> Coy C. Privette <br /> <br /> Also present were Mr. Frank W. Clifton, Jr., County Manager; Mr. <br />Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney; Mr. Maurice Ewing, President of <br />the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation; and Mrs. Frankie F. Bonds, <br />Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br />Chairman Barnhart called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Closed Session <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss <br />matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other <br />businesses in Cabarrus County as authorized by North Carolina General Statute <br />143-318.11(a) (4) . <br /> <br /> Commissioner Carpenter participated <br />telephone. <br /> <br />in the closed session via <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Chairman Barnhart and. <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to end the closed session. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the closed session. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Barnhart adjourned the meeting at 7:55 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
