SUPERVISORSt MEETING CABARRUS SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT MEETING NO. 88: TIME: August 7, 1969 PLACE: District office PRESENT: L. D. Coltrane, III J. L. Patterson S. I. Parker Baker Brooks S. Chairman Coltrane called the meeting to order. 2. Minutes of the July meeting were approved. 3. Chairman's Report: a. Chairman Coltrane expressed for the Supervisors their sympathy to Mr. W. S. Cook in the loss of his mother. b. A report was made that on July 11, 1969, 1500 Conservation Crusader buttons and 800 booklets-HELP KEEP OUR LAND BEAUTIFUL- were ordered. C. The possibility of having an exhibit on Conservation at the Cabarrus County Fair was discussed. The Director of the Fair was contacted and reported that all space had been taken, but if a vacancy should occur, we would be notified. The Cabarrus County Fair will be the week of September 8-13, 1969. d. A letter dated July 25, 1969 from Mr. H. A. Smith was received offering cartoon booklets-TI STORY OF LAND- which , vrc availabj.c for the District Supervisors to purchase if they wish to do so. e. Chairman Coltrane received a letter from Mr. H. A. Smith dated August 4, 1969 requesting that information on the number of Cooperators at end of the fiscal year (June 30, 1969) be completed, signed and returned to the State office. 4. Treasurer's Report: a. 7-1-69 NET CASH IN BANK $1862.94 7-24-69 Paid Soil Conservation Society for booklets $ 48.00 8 -1-69 NET CASH IN BANK 1814.94 1862.94 $1862.94 b. It was unanimously agreed that the Treasurer be authorized to pay for materials required if an exhibit was made for the Cabarrus County Fair and other uses.
