MINUTES <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />MEETING NO. 94: <br />TIME: February 5, 1970 <br />PLACE: District Office <br />PRESENT: L. D. A joint meeting of the District Supervisors and the Watershed <br />Commissioners was called to order by Chairman Coltrane. <br />2. Minutes of the January meeting were approved. <br />3. Chairman's Report: <br />a. Chairman Coltrane read a letter to the members present confirming <br />the reappointment of Mr. J. L. Cochran to serve as Associate <br />Supervisor for another three year term (expires January 1, 1973). <br />b. A letter was read concerning the attendance of Supervisors at <br />the Area III meeting in Greensboro. The letter from Mr. Grady <br />Lane was answered and corrections of the matter were made. <br />C. Chairman Coltrane read a memorandum from Mr. H. A. Smith. The <br />memorandum was to notify the Supervisors and all interested <br />parties of the EDUCATIONAL TV PROGRAMS ON LAND -USE PLANNING. <br />The one-hour long programs were scheduled for: February 4, 11 <br />and 18th at 7:30 P.M. <br />d. Chairman Coltrane called on those Supervisors who were able to <br />attend the N. C. State meeting in Raleigh. Mr. S. I. Parker <br />and Mr. S. W. Colerider, Jr., reported that this meeting was <br />well organized and worthwhile. Also, they reported approximately <br />250 members were registered at the meeting. A number of good <br />speakers were present to speak on various subjects of Soil and <br />Water Conservation. The Supervisors and others attending from <br />the Cabarrus District were: S. I. Parker, S. W. Colerider, Jr., <br />Baker Brooks and W. H. Cato. <br />e. By unanimous agreement of the District Supervisors and Watershed <br />Commissioners, Chairman Coltrane reported that the Cabarrus <br />County Commissioners had been approached to allow the District <br />to hire Mr. W. H. Cato as a part-time employee for the District. <br />The County Commissioners approved the recommendation. <br />
