Chairman Colerider called the joint meeting of the Cabarrus District <br />Supervisors and Watershed Commissioners to order. Mr. Colerider <br />called on Hugh Price for prayer. <br />2. Minutes of the MARCH meeting were approved. <br />3. Chairman's report: approved <br />a. A motion was made and unanimouslyVofficially appointing two <br />new Associate Supervisors to the District Board: Mr. Edward <br />C. Overcash and Mr. Roy Townsend. <br />Chairman Colerider welcomed the two men to the organization <br />expressing his appreciation for their willingness to serve <br />and support the Cabarrus District in conservation work. Both <br />men have been past "Farmer of The Year". <br />b. Mr. J. L. Cochran, Associate Supervisor, submitted his <br />resignation to the Board at this meeting. With deep regret, <br />Mr. S. I. Parker informed the members of Mr. Cochran's <br />request. <br />C. During the month of March, each District Supervisor whole- <br />heartedly agreed that the Associate Supervisors and Watershed <br />Commissioners be recognized for their continuing support and <br />service with the District Supervisors. <br />Associate Supervisors receiving awards of appreciation for <br />10 years in 1974 were: W. E. Cook, Marvin Smith, Archie Smith, <br />J. L. Cochran and C. C. Rimer. <br />Awards of Appreciation were given to the three Watershed <br />Commissioners who have devoted much time and effort to <br />conservation work and the Cabarrus County Watershed project. <br />Those receiving awards were: Fred H. Harkey, C. William Cook <br />and Carl O. Overcash. <br />d. Vice-Chairman Lewis Patterson reported on the Area VIII meeting <br />held April 4, 1974 in Dallas, N. C. Nine people from the Cabarrus <br />District attended. <br />
