Other contestants winning individual awards of $5.00 each: <br />Cheryl Rhodes- Hartsell-Wildlife <br />Mike Hope- Mt. Pleasant- Ponds <br />David Boger-kiinecoff-Soils, construction site conservation <br />Folloining Speech contest, honorary gifts from the Cabarrus Soil and <br />Water Conservation District were given to the fudges. <br />1. A short business meeting was called to order by Chairman Patterson <br />.follq,wihg the contest. <br />9 <br />A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed approving the <br />November minutes. <br />3. Chairman Patterson explained that due to time, the meeting would be <br />brief. <br />Rev. Thomas Hogan was tAjelcom to the group as the newly elected Supervisor <br />to serve on the Cabarrus Soil and Water District Board for a four year term. <br />Treasurer's report: <br />Net Cash, in Bank 111% -3-76 $3634.60 <br />S. The Di-Arict Conservationist gave a brief report of several meetings he <br />had attended during November. <br />6. Committee reports <br />Education: No report <br />Finance: No report <br />Watershed: No report <br />Land-Use: No report <br />7. The major portion of the business meeting was discussing priority work that <br />should be designated as soon as possible by the District Supervisors. <br />Hugh Price was asked to give his ideas of what priorities should be considered <br />by the District Supervisors and in what order of priority. <br />Wesley Grant suggested that each Supervisor suggest an idea of priority work <br />to be done in the County. Suggestions are to be given at the January meeting. <br />S. The State Association meeting of the N. C. Soil and Water Conservation <br />Districts is to be held: <br />January 16-19, 1.977 <br />, Hilton Hotel-Wilmington, N. C. <br />A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed that Christmas holiday <br />for the District Clerk be observed on Friday, December 24, 1976. <br />9.
