A woodland tour and forestry demonstration sponsored by the <br />Isenhour Brick Company of Rowan County was held in Gold Hill,N.C. <br />. Committee reports: <br />EDUCATION: (Hogan) <br />a. Rev. Hogan reported that Fair Week is September 11-16, 1978. <br />He asked for ideas for the fair exhibit sponsored by the <br />District each year. <br />b. Plans for the conservation tours will soon be underway. <br />Hogan reported that Mr. Cato will not-be able to continue <br />the radio programs. Rev. Hogan suggested that potential <br />contacts be made to do the radio programs.i <br />A motion was made, seconded and'unanimously passed to contac <br />Miss Elise Litaker requesting'her assistance with the tours <br />and radio programs. I <br />FINANCE: (Grant) <br />A motion was made, seconded and unanimously passed authorizing the <br />Treasurer to pay: <br />Eyvonne McDaniel <br />WATERSHED: (Smith) <br />(Expense to District <br />Clerks workshop in <br />Dallas) <br />Postage scale) <br />Gas $5.00 <br />Meal 2.30 <br />.89 <br />TOTAL $8.19 <br />Carl Overcash requested that a letter be written to Division of <br />Environmental Management requesting reclassification of Adams Creek <br />from class "C" to class "B". <br />LAND-USE: (McClure) <br />Mr. McClure reported reading an article in the Progressive Farmer <br />concerning land values. The article contained information that <br />farms in the Southeast have the best potential for high value <br />farm land. <br />7. Unfinished business: <br />Chairman Patterson appointed a committee to select nominees for <br />CONSERVATION FARM FAMILY OF THE YEAR. <br />At a special meeting during July, John McClure, Marvin Smith,, <br />Paul Bowles and Hugh Price met to discuss recommendations for <br />Farm Family of the Year. <br />
