r r <br />i <br />MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO: 252 <br />DATE: November 16, 1982 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. - 9:45 P.M. <br />SUPERVISORS: J. Lewis Patterson, Frank Herrin, Jr. C. Lipe Barrier, Sr, <br />Dr. Marvin P. Rozear Paul Bowles, Eddie Moose <br />WATERSHED: Carl 0. Overcash, C. William Cook, John A. Hammill, Jr. <br />GUESTS: J. Harold Nash, County Commissioner and Mrs. Peggy Price <br />OFFICE: Hugh D. Price, Bill Hull, Eyvonne S. McDaniel <br />1. Chairman Patterson called the meeting to order. Hugh Price gave the <br />Invocation. Mr. Patterson welcomed our guests to the meeting. <br />Bill Hull will be returning to work after Thanksgiving. He has been <br />inspecting soybeans for the past two months. <br />2. A motion was made, passed and approving the October minutes. <br />3. Chairman's report: <br />a. Reservation cards and information was distributed to the <br />supervisors for the Annual Soil and Water meeting to be held <br />January 9 -12, 1983 in Wilmington, N. C. <br />b. On November 2nd, Frank Herrin and John A. Hammill, Jr. were <br />elected to serve as supervisors for a four year term for the <br />Cabarrus District. <br />C. On November 10th, the State Soil and Water Commission reappointed <br />Mr. C. Lipe Barrier, Sr., for another four year term. <br />Mr. Herrin, Mr. Hammill and Mr. Barrier are required to take the <br />oath of office on December 6, 1982 at the Clerk of Court by 12:00 <br />noon. <br />d. Mr. Lewis Patterson did not choose to file for the past election <br />and his term will expire on December 6, 1982. <br />e. Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting. <br />f. Chairman of the Cabarrus County Extension Homemakers, Mrs. Peggy <br />Price, requested participating and working with the District in <br />supporting, promoting and distributing Soil Stewardship Week <br />material this Spring. Mrs. Price and the Extension Ladies are <br />willing to contact the churches and ministers to provide information <br />on Soil Stewardship Week. <br />A motion was made, seconded and passed that the District support <br />Mrs. Price and her group. The supervisors expressed their <br />appreciation to Mrs. Price for the interest shown in working with <br />the District on this program. <br />4.
