MINUTES <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT <br />SUPERVISORS MEETING <br />MEETING NO. 280 <br />DATE: March 12, 1985 Agriculture Center 7:30 P.M. -9:30 P.M., <br />SUPERVISORS: Whitaker Moose, Frank Herrin, John Hammill, C. Lipe <br />Barrier, Jimmy Little, Paul Bowles <br />WATERSHED: Jerry Hammill, Mike Harkey, Tommy Smith <br />OTHER: Archie Barnhardt, Hugh Price, Bill Hull <br />1. Chairman Moose called the meeting to order. Hugh price gave the <br />invocation. <br />2. Chairman Moose stated everyone should have received a copy of the <br />minutes for the February meeting and if there were no corrections <br />the minutes would stand approved. <br />3. Supervisors signed expense vouchers for this meeting. Frank Herrin <br />signed expense voucher for attending area meeting. Supervisors <br />stated their reimbursement for January and February meetings was <br />combined in one check to make adjustment to 202 per mile travel <br />they received in January. <br />4. COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />FINANCE: <br />Cash in bank (last meeting, Feb. <br />Deposit in bank from tree sales_ <br />Interest <br />$954.80 <br />455.00 <br />4.21 <br />Balance $1414.01 <br />Petty Cash (from tree sale) - $134.50 <br />EDUCATION: <br />a. Land judging contest for Cabarrus and Rowan County FFA <br />will be held March 26th. near the two county lines. A <br />motion was made by Frank Herrin, seconded by Lipe Barrier <br />the District give $30 to winning team in Cabarrus County <br />and $10 to the highest scoring individual in Cabarrus <br />County. Motion passed and treasurer authorized to write <br />a check for this amount. <br />b. Frank Herrin and Hugh Price reported on the Area meeting <br />they attended in Salisbury on March 6th. <br />C. Hugh Price reported on the Farmland Preservation Conference <br />he attended at UNCC. <br />d. John Hammill reported on the Southern Spring Show held <br />in Charlotte. John thought the exhibit by the Soil and <br />Water Districts was very good and gave a lot of recognition <br />to the districts. Appreciation was given to Lipe Barrier <br />for sending his truck and two men on two occassions to help <br />construct and dismantle the exhibit. <br />e. A motion was made and passed the District order pine <br />seedlings for Arbor day. <br />12th.) <br />
