492 <br /> <br />PART III - DESIGN <br /> <br />Upon written authorization to proceed with design of selected project(s), HDR <br />will prepare plans and specifications for bidding and construction purposes. <br />Services will also include assistance with applicable permits, approvals, and <br />other related services. <br /> <br />Compensation for these services will be negotiated using established guide- <br />lines when the project(s) and the scope of work have been defined. <br /> <br />PART IV - ENGINEERING SERVICES DURING CONSTRUCTION <br /> <br />Upon written authorization to proceed with engineering services during <br />construction, }{DR will provide the following services: <br /> <br />A. Contract Administration Service <br /> <br /> 7. <br /> <br /> 8. <br /> <br /> 9. <br /> <br />10. <br /> <br />Provide assistance in advertising for and receiving bids and make <br />recon, nendations for accepting bids and award of contracts. <br />Check and process shop drawings. <br />Preparation of closing out documents, including "record drawings". <br />Provide the County with such assistance as might be desired to <br />inform the public of its program and promote good public relations. <br />Make visits to the site at intervals appropriate to the various <br />stages of construction to observe the progress and quality of the <br />executed work and to determine, in general, if such work is pro- <br />ceeding in accordance with the contract documents. <br />Review of monthly construction cost estimates for use as a basis <br />for payment to the contractor. <br />Provide assistance in start-up and testing equipment and prepare <br />operating manuals when required by regulatory agencies. <br />Provide liaison between County officials, regulatory agencies and <br />the Contractor. <br />Keep County officials informed as to the progress of the work and <br />the status of the project. <br />Final review and certification of the project. <br /> <br />B. Resident Project Representative <br /> <br />If authorized by the County, we will provide one or more full-time <br />Resident Project Representatives during construction. The Resident <br />Project Representative will be located on the job throughout the con- <br />struction period and will observe the work performed by the Contractor <br />to endeavor to provide further protection for the County against defects <br />and deficiencies in the Contractor's work. The furnishing of these <br />services shall not include responsibility of the Contractor's <br />construction means, methods, techniques, sequences or procedures, or of <br />any safety precautions and programs in connection with the work. The <br />Resident Project Representative shall not be responsible for the <br />Contract's failure to carry out the work in accordance with the <br />Construction Contract. <br /> <br />Compensation for these services will be negotiated after the scope of work <br />has been defined. <br /> <br />PART V - MISCELLANEOUS ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> <br />In addition to the foregoing services and fees, the following special <br />services may be performed when requested by the County: <br /> <br />Laboratory tests, specialized soils, hydraulic or other studies may be <br />recommended by us. The cost of such tests and/or studies shall be borne <br />by the County, provided, however, that the County shall be advised of <br />and give consent to such tests and studies prior to their being made. <br />Miscellaneous design not a part of projects specifically covered herein, <br />property surveys for title transfer or easements, necessary litigation <br />or arbitration, or other work done by us if requested by the County. <br />Redesign at the request of the County after approval of preliminary <br />plans and services provided during readvertisement of bids. <br /> <br /> <br />
