<br />Lying and being in Ward Number Three (3) of the City of Concord, North
<br />Carolina, on the East side of McCachern Boulevard, adjoining White &
<br />Morris, John Barnhardt and Cabarrus County, and being more particularly
<br />described as follows:
<br />
<br />BEGINNING at an iron located on the western edge of McCachern Boulevard,
<br />a corner of Barnhardt; thence with Barnhardt's line, S. 47-28-28 W.,
<br />154.46 feet to an iron, a corner of Cabarrus County in the line of White
<br />& Morris; thence with White & Morris, N. 40-10-60 W., 9.0 feet ± to a
<br />point, a new corner of Cabarrus County in the line of White & Morris;
<br />thence with Cabarrus County, N. 54-48-51E., 154.354 feet to the point of
<br />BEGINNING containing 0.0159 acres (695 square feet), more or less, by
<br />computation.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Payne and unani-
<br />mously carried, the Board authorized the Chairman to sign the following
<br />resolution.
<br />
<br />RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE FUNDING OF
<br /> CODDLE CREEK RESERVOIR
<br />
<br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus, North Carolina
<br />DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE, as follows:
<br />
<br /> Section 1. The County of Cabarrus, North Carolina (the "County"), has
<br />been considering constructing a dam and water supply reservoir on Coddle Creek
<br />in the County and the acquisition of land necessary therefor as originally and
<br />generally described in a report prepared by Peirson and Whitman, Inc., addressed
<br />to the Board of Light and Water Commissioners of the City of Concord, North
<br />Carolina, and dated February 14, 1984, and as modified by Henningsen, Durham &
<br />Richardson, Inc., and otherwise (the "Coddle Creek Reservoir").
<br /> Section 2. The County intends to issue general obligation bonds, subject
<br />to approval at a referendum, in one or more series for the purpose of provid-
<br />ing funds for paying a portion of the cost of the Coddle Creek Reservoir.
<br /> Section 3. In anticipation of receiving the proceeds of the sale of such
<br />bonds for the purpose mentioned above, the County may apply to such purpose
<br />monies available to the County for other purposes, provided that monies so
<br />applied by the County will not be required to be applied otherwise pending
<br />such use and will be replenished from the proceeds of such bonds.
<br /> Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
<br />passage.

<br /> Ms. Teresa W. Melton, Program Administrator with the Office of Aging,
<br />reviewed the bids received on March 16, 1987, for the Cabarrus County
<br />Nutrition Program for the Elderly and recommended that the low bidder, McCabes
<br />Restaurant, be awarded the contract for the 1988 program year for Cabarrus
<br />County. The bids were as follows.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Chairman Lentz and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board awarded the contract for the 1988 program year
<br />for the Cabarrus County Nutrition Program for the Elderly to the low bidder,
<br />McCabes Restaurant, with a net bid of $1.85 plus tax.
<br /> Chairman Lentz announced that the proposed Health Department budget
<br />amendment had been withdrawn from the agenda.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Data Processing budget
<br />amendment.
