444 <br /> <br /> Mr. Leon Tuttle, representative of C4 Media Cable, Inc., presented a <br />proposal to provide cable television service to residents in the southern <br />part of Cabarrus County who presently do not have the option of receiving <br />cable service. He explained that C4 Media specializes in providing cable <br />service to low density areas and requested the granting of a cable franchise <br />by Cabarrus County. The Board received Mr. Tuttle's presentation as <br />information only and no action was taken. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Melvin and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Capital Projects <br />Ordinance. <br /> Cabarrus County <br /> Capital Projects Ordinance <br /> Public School Buildings Capital Projects Fund <br /> <br /> Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, meeting <br />in session this 18th day of July, 1988, that the following Capital Projects <br />Fund Ordinance for the Public School Buildings Capital Projects Fund is <br />adopted for the life of the project with the following revenues and <br />expenditures. <br /> <br /> A. It is estimated that the following revenues will be available in the <br />Capital Projects Fund Ordinance for the life of this project. <br /> <br />State School Construction Revenue <br /> <br />$778,000.00 <br /> <br /> B. The following amounts are hereby appropriated in the Capital <br />Projects Fund Ordinance for the construction, renovation and other expenses <br />as approved by the State Board of Education for school construction. <br /> <br />Cabarrus County Schools <br /> <br />$778,000.00 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to accept the State's offer of <br />$59,225.00 for purchase of 0.41 acres at the Ambulance Service substation <br />site located at the intersection of Highway 601 and Highway 49 with the <br />provision that the County occupies the building or has the building and the <br />other mentioned items, including a flag pole, an outdoor light pole, and <br />miscellaneous landscaping, completely moved by August, 1990. <br /> Mr. B. H. Mabrey, Sr., Emergency Services Director, reported that the <br />State Department of Transportation would also pay the cost of relocating the <br />radio tower and personal property at the Ambulance Service substation. He <br />~also stated that he would be meeting with officials of Jackson Training <br />School within the next week regarding possible sites for relocation of the <br />substation. <br /> Mr. Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr., reviewed the procedure for the sale of <br />the house owned by the County at the Coddle Creek Reservoir site by sealed <br />bid. Board members agreed to visit the site at their meeting on July 25, <br />1988. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Interim Water Extension <br />Policy. <br /> <br />INTERIM WATER EXTENSION POLICY <br /> <br />INTENT <br /> <br />Extension of water by the County Water and Sewer District, either inside or <br />outside the District, will be considered by the County upon the receipt of a <br />petition requesting that a County water line or lines be extended to serve <br />the designated area. These petitions may be picked up at the County Water <br />and Sewer Department. <br /> <br />The following chart gives a breakdown of the tap fees applicable for connect- <br />ing to the County's water system. However, these fees do not reflect the <br />costs of extending the lines to new areas. These estimated extension costs <br />are provided by the Cabarrus County Water and Sewer Department and must be <br />paid prior to the preparation of plans for said extension. <br /> <br /> <br />
