445 <br /> <br />WATER CONNECTION CHARGES <br /> <br />Connection Fee <br /> <br />Service Tap Deposit Set-up Total <br />3/4" Water $ 550.00 $ 50.00 $25.00 $ 625.00 <br />1" Water 650.00 50.00 25.00 725.00 <br />2" Water 2,000.00 100.00 25.00 2,125.00 <br />4" Water Cost + 15% 100.00 25.00 4,625.00 <br /> <br />Persons signing the petition are requested to pay the Connection Fee prior to <br />the award of the contract for the line extension. <br /> <br />Once the service is requested, paid for and available, each customer will be <br />given thirty days to have a plumber connect his/her residence or business. <br />If a customer chooses not to connect, a minimum monthly fee, as established <br />in the rate schedule, will be charged to the customer. <br /> <br /> A sample of the Petition as referred to the Interim Water Extension <br />Policy is as follows. <br /> <br />PETITION FOR EXTENSION OF COUNTY WATER SERVICE <br /> <br /> We, the undersigned petitioners of Subdivision <br />and/or Street(s), located in Cabarrus County, <br />hereby request that the County extend its water lines to serve this <br />designated area. <br /> <br /> In signing our names, addresses and phone numbers to this petition, we <br />acknowledge that we are to (1) select a spokesman, who will also serve as our <br />treasurer; (2) be prepared to pay seventy percent (70%) of the estimated cost <br />of extension prior to the preparation of plans for the project (This estimated <br />extension cost includes construction costs, as well as legal, engineering and <br />administrative costs. The County participates in the extension cost by <br />paying for the difference in cost between a 6 inch line and the size installed <br />and by paying thirty percent (30%) of the remaining estimated cost of the <br />extensions.); and (3) pay the current connection fee prior to actually <br />receiving service. <br /> <br /> The cost to each customer will be his/her share of the extension cost <br />plus the current connection fee. <br /> <br /> TELEPHONE <br />NAME ADDRESS NUMBER <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and unani- <br />mously carried, the Board authorized the Finance Director to complete he <br />financial transaction of $625,000.00 on July 22, 1988, with the Town of Mount <br />Pleasant to complete the County's portion of the Black Run Creek Project. <br /> Mr. Fletcher L.
