Planning and Zoning Commission
March 19, 1992 .....

Page 7

Mr. Trammell said it has been there for 25 years and they
have had one addition put on it. The one part of it that
was for the washer was put in a separate direction but it
would not carry the water, so they had quit using the
washer.

Chairperson Randall asked Mr. Trammell if there was any
other place he could park his recreational vehicle.

Mr. Trammell stated no.

Chairperson Randall also asked if there were public
garages that would have places to store it; because as
she looks at this at one level, the hardship runs with
the land and it is not unique to the property owner, and
the difficulty she has is he bought the RV and she was
trying to see if there was a way or a place to hold it.

Mr. Olio-Mills asked Chairperson Randall if he could ask
Mr. Newton if this was approved tonight, and a building
permit was issued, would he not be able to pass the
foundation test.

Chairperson Randall then swore in Mr. Newton to answer
Mr. Olio-Mill's question.

Mr. Newton said what will need to be done, should this be
approved, Building Inspection will have to have a
certified statement by an engineer who has reviewed it
and attests to the footings' ability to support the
structure. With that, even though they have not had any
footing inspections, they will use that and keep that
with all the inspection reports.

Mr. Davis asked Mr. Trammell if he has had problems with
this particular line in the past backing up and not
absorbing water completely, and if he was familiar with
the soil in the neighborhood and that other properties in
the neighborhood also has experienced difficulties with
septic tanks and drain fields.

Mr. Trammell stated yes he has had problems with his
septic tank line, and he is familiar with the soil in the
neighborhood, it has clay underneath the ground.

Hearing no other comments from the audience, Chairperson Randall
closed the public hearing on Variance Application 0105)V).
