Information/Education 4.1 Public Speaking Contest - Fifty -five guests attended the District's 28th annual public speaking contest, including 8 contestants representing 4 schools. Two Northwest Cabarrus Middle School students, Doug Anderson and Melissa Michaud, will represent the District at the Area VIII competition in Albemarle in March. 211 total students prepared speeches this year. 4.2 Staff from the District, Cooperative Extension, Forest Service, and Wildlife Resources Commission are assisting with a resources inventory at Mt. Pleasant Middle School, leading up to a school stewardship plan. 5. NCACSP Report 5.1 Information/Correspondence 5.1.1 Special allocation of $500,00 for animal waste with priority to be given to small family agricultural operations by the NC General Assembly for BMP's and to be handled under the same rules as the regular ACSP BMP allocations. Requests for these funds must be received by the Division of Soil and Water Conservation office by December 22, 1995. 5.1.2 Results of engineer assessment for C.
