Extension Service staff for presenters and the board should contact <br />Agribusiness Council Chairman Randy Fisher to discuss #=heii= future <br />District involvement in planning. <br />(7 -D) Proposed New State Envirothon Cap on Participating Teams <br />A proposal will be made to the state Envirothon Committee to <br />reduce the number of regional teams participating in the state <br />Envirothon from 7 teams to 5 teams. This proposed change is due to <br />the new oral presentation requirement of the state competition and the <br />need for additional volunteers to serve as judges. This cap does not <br />affect the regional Envirothon held at Catawba College. <br />UPON MOTION of Ned Hudson, seconded by Vicky Porter, the board <br />endorsed the proposed cap of 5 teams per region at the state <br />Envirothon. <br />(7 -E) Cabarrus County Agriculture Advisory Board <br />AAB Chair Vicky Porter reported the annual celebration of <br />agriculture will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at their farm in <br />Mt. Pleasant. It was suggested that the board hold their monthly <br />meeting on the farm before the celebration. <br />UPON MOTION of Vicky Porter, seconded by Johnathon Johnson and <br />unanimously carried, the board voted to hold their August meeting at <br />the Porter Farm on August 2, 2011 at 5:15 pm. <br />Louis Suther stated the Cruse Meat Processing Harvesting Facility <br />will be built in the Rimer community. <br />Vicky Porter stated all the farms enrolled in the enhanced <br />Voluntary Agriculture District program have been officially recorded <br />in the Register of Deeds office. <br />There was a discussion among the group regarding the controversy <br />associated with herbicide site preparation for a proposed meadow at <br />Camp Spencer. <br />(8) Adjourn <br />UPON MOTION of Johnathon Johnson, seconded by Vicky Porter and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 6:46 p.m. <br />Je o orth, Chairman Ned udson, Secretary- Treasurer <br />
