370 <br /> <br /> Mr. Fletcher L. Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney, reported that bids had <br />been received for the surplus property removal of the Coddle Creek Reservoir <br />area and Ambulance Substation structures. These bids will be presented at a <br />later time for award by the Board. <br /> Chairman Simmons announced that the Board was accepting applications for <br />appointments to the Poplar Tent Beautification District Advisory Commission. <br /> Chairman Simmons recessed the meeting at 8:30 P.M. <br /> Chairman Simmons reconvened the meeting at 8:40 P.M. <br /> The Board agreed to meet with the Cabarrus County Board of Education and <br />the Kannapolis Board of Education at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, December 9, 1991, in <br />the Multipurpose Room of the Governmental Center to discuss school needs. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into executive session for <br />consultation with counsel and to discuss pending or threatened litigation. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the executive session was adjourned. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Payne and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the payment of $5,800.00 to <br />Commissioner Carpenter for the eleven (11) weeks of work as Interim County <br />Manager since the last time she was paid. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into executive session for <br />consultation with counsel and to discuss land acquisition and the recruitment <br />of industry to the county. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the executive session was adjourned. No action was reported from the executive session. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Simmons <br />recessed the meeting at 9:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 19, 1991. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
