Terry Crawford and Garret Jenio were <br />identified as the ns~°ferred candidates. <br />Note: The Board appointed Vice Chairman Juba to Seat 9 at its December <br />2006 meeting. However, appointments to Seat 5 and 6 were over-looked. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Juba, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Terry Crawford (Seat 5) and Garrett <br />Jenio (Seat 6) to the Tourism Authority for 3-year terms ending December 31, <br />2009 as recommendedby the Authority. <br />(I-2) Watershed Improvement Commission <br />As of February 15, 2007, Mr. Ross M. Morrison, III will have served two <br />consecutive 6-year terms on the Watershed Improvement Commission and is no <br />longer eligible to serve. At its January meeting, the Watershed Improvement <br />Commission unanimously voted to recommend the appointment of Donald Kelly to <br />fill the position held by Mr. Morrison. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner White and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Donald Ke11y to the Watershed <br />Improvement Commission for a 6-year term ending February 15; 2013 as <br />recommended by the Watershed Improvement Commission. <br />(I-3) NCACC Legislative Liaison <br />The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) is <br />requesting that all 100 counties appoint one county commissioner as its <br />Legislative Liaison. Each county's Legislative Liaison will serve as a <br />conduit of information between the Association (via District 12 Director <br />Pearl Burris-Floyd of Gaston County) and your Board of Commissioners. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Vice Chairman Juba as its <br />Legislative Liaison as requested by the NCACC. <br />(I-4) Department of Aging Advisory Board <br />The term for Virginia "Boots" Walker, Jerry Shinn, Marilu Peck, Robert <br />Mathis and Alleane Reeves ended December 31, 2006. Ron Harwood, whose term <br />ends December 31, 2007, resigned from the Advisory Board. At its December <br />meeting, the AdvisoryBoard unanimously voted to recommend the following <br />appointments: reappoint Alleane Reeves and Jerry Shinn for 3-year terms <br />ending December 31,. 2009; appoint Theodore Drain, Nancy Yates and Frank <br />Whitley for 3-year terms ending December 31, 2009; and appoint Virginia <br />"Boots" Walker to complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2007. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Alleane Reeves and Jerry Shinn for <br />3-year terms ending December 31, 2009; appointed Virginia "Boots" Walker to <br />complete an unexpired term ending December 31, 2007; and appointed Theodore <br />R.
