<br />(F-18) Sheriff Department - Approval of Contract Amendments No. 1 and 2 with
<br />Southern Health Partners for Inmate Healthcare
<br />Amendment No. 1 is intended to extend the term of the Inmate Medical
<br />Case contract to June 30, 2008 and increase the annual contract amount to
<br />$469,495.76.
<br />Amendment No. 2 is intended to extend weekend and holiday nursing staff
<br />hours at the jail from 12 to 16 hours per day and increase the annual
<br />contract amount to $973,735.76.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved Contract Amendments No. 1 and 2
<br />with Southern Health Partners for Inmate Healthcare and authorized the County
<br />Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the County.
<br />(F-19) Sheriff's Department - Award Surplus Service Weapons Upon Retirement
<br />Lieutenant Steve Ray Cook and Captain Thomas Michael Furr are retiring
<br />from the Sheriff's Office. Their last day of employment will be March 27,
<br />2006. The Sheriff's Department is requesting Mr. Cook's Sig pistol, 90
<br />caliber, Model: P226R, Serial Number: 0689297 and Mr. Furr's Sig, 40
<br />caliber, Model: P226R, Serial Number: 0664269 be awarded for the price of
<br />one dollar each pursuant to NCGS 20-187.2.

<br />and unanimously carried, the Board declared surplus weapons and awarded for
<br />the price of one dollar each pursuant to NCGS 20-187.2.

<br />This is a request to purchase Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), Record
<br />Management System (RMS), mapping, jail management system, mobile, AVL and
<br />field reporting from Emergency Management CIP budget for Fiscal Year 2008.
<br />It is recommended to piggyback with Union County's bid which was awarded in
<br />March 2007 to SunGard Public Sector pursuant to North Carolina G.S. 193-129.
<br />This purchase will not only enhance the 911 center, jail and sheriff's
<br />office, but EMS, Volunteer Fire Departments and Emergency Management.
<br />The notice "Awarding a Contract to Sunguard Public Sector Inc. for OSSI CAD,
<br />RMS, Mobile and Jail System Software by Piggybacking a Bid Awarded Previously
<br />by Union County, North Carolina" was posted on the County's website on March
<br />14, 2008.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the purchase of Computer-Aided
<br />Dispatch (CAD), Record Management System (RMS), mapping, jail management
<br />system, mobile, AVL and field reporting software not to exceed $1,778,000.00
<br />by piggybacking Onion County's bid from Sunguard Public Sector Inc. and
<br />adopted the following budget amendment:
