<br />Mr. Witke also responded to a variety of questions from the Board.
<br />Vice Chairman White requested the return on investment from the
<br />installation of new windows as it pertains to heating and air savings.
<br />No action was taken.
<br />Will Crabtree, Kannapolis City Schools, was unable to attend the
<br />meeting; therefore, the Board did not receive an update on those projects.
<br />Planning and Development - Food Policy Council 2013 Annual Retreat and Goals
<br />Patricia Cramer, Food Policy Council Chair, presented the Cabarrus
<br />County Food Policy Retreat 2013 Summary Report for the OMEED (Outreach
<br />Marketing Education and Economic Development Committee) and the HWHFA (Health
<br />Wellness Hunger and Food Access Committee). The reports included committee
<br />goals along with projected completion dates.
<br />A discussion ensued. Ms. Cramer and Aaron Newton, Local Food System
<br />Program Coordinator, responded to a variety of questions from the Board. Mr.
<br />Newton also announced the Spring Plant and Herb Festival is April 13 at the
<br />Winecoff Farmers Market from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
<br />Vice Chairman White requested updates be provided on Cruse Meats and
<br />local farmers.
