December 16, 2013 (Regular Meeting) Page 1861 <br />The following members have expiring terms and are not seeking <br />reappointment to the Food Policy Council: Gina Guthrie, Ed Hosack, David <br />Bettendorf, David Kataja, Dana Ritchie, Greg Kesterson and Chad VonCannon. <br />Several members with expiring terms respectfully request to be <br />reappointed to the Food Policy Council for three -year terms ending on December <br />31, 2016. The members recommended for reappointment are: Erin Bayer, Chris <br />Jones, Penelope Perkins- Veazie and Lisa Wacheldorf. <br />The following applicants are recommended for appointment to the Food <br />Policy Council for three -year terms ending on December 31, 2016: Dawn Simone <br />"At- large ", Jim Dudley "Hunger Relief ", Rene Shuford "At- large" and James <br />Douglas Crawford "Food Production ". <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Measmer, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Dawn Simone "At- large ", Jim <br />Dudley "Hunger Relief ", Rene Shuford "At- large" and James Douglas Crawford <br />"Food Production" to the Food Policy Council for three -year terms ending <br />December 31, 2016. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board reappointed Erin Bayer "Medical Industry ", <br />Chris Jones "Food Distribution ", Penelope Perkins- Veazie "Education" and Lisa <br />Wacheldorf "Food Distribution" to the Food Policy Council for three -year terms <br />ending December 31, 2016. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board removed Gina Guthrie, Ed Hosack, David <br />Bettendorf, David Kataja, Dana Ritchie, Greg Kesterson and Chad VonCannon from <br />the Food Policy Council roster and thanked them for their service. <br />(1) REPORTS <br />(I -1) EDC Novemher Monthly Summary Report <br />The Board received the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) <br />monthly report for the month of November as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(I -2) Cabarrus County Schools (CCS) - One -Time Funding Update <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Schools One -Time Funding Update <br />Report for informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was <br />required of the Board. <br />(1 -3) County Manager - Monthly Reports on Building Activity <br />The Board received the Cabarrus County Construction Standards Dodge <br />Report for November 2013 and the Cabarrus County Commercial Building Plan <br />Review Summary for November 2013 for informational purposes as part of the <br />Agenda. No action was required of the Board. <br />(1 -4) Planning and Development - CDBG Monthly Report for October <br />The Board received the monthly report for CDBG activity for <br />informational purposes as part of the Agenda. No action was required of the <br />Board. <br />(1 -5) BOC - Receive Updates from Commission Members Who Serve as Liaisons to <br />Municipalities or on Various Board /Committees <br />Chairman Poole advised of the Incumbent Workforce Development Program, <br />which provides training resources to local businesses through funding from the <br />Centralina Workforce Development Board. <br />(1 -6) Request for Applications for County Boards /Committees <br />Applications are being accepted for the following County <br />Boards /Committees: <br />• Active living and Parks Commission - 2 Positions with Expiring Terms <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee - 5 Vacancies <br />• Agricultural Advisory Board - 3 Position with Expiring Terms <br />• Cabarrus County Senior Centers Advisory Council - 5 Positions with <br />Expiring Terms <br />
