Mike Coley said that there are several pro's and con's for both single and tandem trucks.
He would like to go for the 20 year financing instead of 15 years. This requires another
Public Meeting which Patrick will take out the add and schedule the meeting for
December 5th at 6pm. The Board will plan to meet at 7pm following the public meeting
which is designed only to let the community know about the terms being posed for
financing the truck.
Joe Vaughan wanted to revisit the tanker from Mt. Pleasant and it was mentioned that
Mt. Pleasant will fix the tanker and certify that it works properly. The board's consensus
is that it doesn't want to inherit the issues of the tanker as the water flow is not
conducive to what NEVFD is needing.
Patrick said that we need to be able to get 3500 gallons to the scene because although
Rural, the chicken houses in the district require us to need that much water in order to
impact and lower the ISO rating.
If we go with the 15 year term, NEVFD could submit the meeting minutes from the
Public Meeting. The community was not in agreement about the correct vehicle to fund
and this led to other meetings to ensure the correct decision is being made by the board
regarding the Engine vs. Tanker. A new set of meeting minutes will be drafted and sent
along with the resolution to the Commissioners once the Public Meeting is held on
December 5th.
Tracey pointed out that the number of meetings that we have had over the last 6 weeks
proves that the department is trying to find the best solution for the residents and that
although there are disagreements, we can prove beyond any doubt that we have done
our job trying to find the best solution for the Department.
Bill motioned to have the meeting end at 7:25pm and Joe 2nd the motion. All board
members agreed to end the meeting at that time.
G-4 Page 90
