Future Land Use <br /> Land Use Overview <br /> The future development pattern is envisioned to include a <br /> broad range of uses introduced over time through new <br /> development and redevelopment. The uses are those that <br /> are expected based on market conditions as well as some <br /> that,through proactive measures on the part of the Town, <br /> its partners, and private investors,may be recruited to <br /> Harrisburg. <br /> The Future Land Use Map (Figure 6)is a depiction of Future Land Use <br /> the intended distribution of uses in the Morehead West Parks and Recreation <br /> Area. Unlike a zoning map,it is general. It shows the Private Recreation <br /> predominant land use in each area and is not specific to Very Low Density Residential <br /> parcels. It is intended to convey a policy direction Low Density Residential <br /> without being prescriptive. However,it serves as input Medium/High Density Residential <br /> into decisions regarding the zoning of parcels and High Density Residential <br /> therefore helps inform decision about development, Entertainment/Private Recreation <br /> particularly with regard to zoning matters. It also informs Office/Hospitality <br /> decisions about investments in public infrastructure and Commercial/Ent./Hosp./Priv. Rec <br /> services,including the prioritization of capital Commerial/Entertainment <br /> expenditures.
