STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA EMS TEMPORARY
RELOCATION AGREEMENT
COUNTY OF CABARRUS
This EMS TEMPORARY RELOCATION AGREEMENT ("Agreement") is
made and entered into effective July 1, 2017 by and between CABARRUS COUNTY
("County") and ("Contractor").
RECITALS
1. The County operates a public ambulance and emergency services agency
under the name Cabarrus County EMS ("EMS").
2. The Contractor has entered into a contract with the North Carolina
Department of Transportation("NCDOT")to replace the following roadway bridges
within Cabarrus County: Centergrove Road at I-85, Centergrove Road at Cold Water
Creek, Brantley Road at Lake Fisher and Brantley Road at I-85.
3. The replacement of these bridges will require the closure of portions of the
roads on which those bridges are located and require detours around those areas for
vehicular traffic.
4. The existence of these detours will negatively impact the potential
response time for EMS service in those areas of Cabarrus County for which normal travel
across these bridges if open would have occurred.
5. In order to adjust for these bridge closures, the County will need to
specially deploy EMS equipment and personnel into key areas of the County so that EMS
service can be maintained as routinely as possible.
6. The Contractor has agreed to make a financial contribution to the County
to assist in attempting to normalize the provision of EMS services during the time of
these bridge closures.
7. The parties have decided to enter into this Agreement to provide for the
Contractor to contribute temporary financial assistance for EMS services in the affected
areas.
In consideration of the Recitals above and the provisions contained below, which
the parties agree constitute sufficient consideration to make this Agreement legally
binding and enforceable, the parties agree as provided below.
PROVISIONS
1. Beginning July 1, 2017, EMS shall locate an additional ambulance and
sufficient equipment and staffing for its operation, in the general vicinity of the above-
identified bridge closures, for so long as any of such bridges is closed to public use. The
exact location of the placement of the ambulance and the temporary station location shall
be in the discretion of EMS.
Attachment number 1 \n
G-8 Page 254
