Box 707 <br /> Concord, N.C. 28026-9696 <br /> Re: Cabarrus County Public Health Authority Board Vacancy <br /> Dear Megan, <br /> The Cabarrus County Public Health Authority Board will have a CMC-Northeast Medical Staff <br /> seat vacancy effective June 30, 2017, due to the resignation of Chad Weston, MD. <br /> There is currently one application on file in your office to fill this seat in your office for Lara <br /> Pons, MD. Dr. Pons is a physician at Cabarrus Family Medicine — Mt. Pleasant. She specializes <br /> in Family medicine and hospital medicine. She completed her education at Wake Forest <br /> University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, and her fellowship at the University of North <br /> Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is Board Certified with the American Board of Family Medicine. <br /> When we learned of Dr. Weston's resignation, we reached out to the Chief Medical Officer at <br /> CMC-NorthEast to share with their staff about this vacancy. Dr. Pons was very interested and <br /> has generously stepped up to fill this vacancy. <br /> Dr. Pons visited a Cabarrus County Public Health Authority Board Meeting on May 9, 2017 and <br /> this gave our Board members an opportunity to meet and greet afterwards. The following day, <br /> I emailed all CHA Board members to get their support of or Dr. Pons to fill this vacancy and also <br /> requested input if anyone had concerns. <br /> The Cabarrus County Public Health Authority Board unanimously approves of and recommends <br /> the appointment of Lara Pons, MD to fill this seat on our Board representing a member of the <br /> CMC-NorthEast Medical Staff, and feels that her experience and knowledge in the healthcare <br /> field and as a practicing CMC-NorthEast physician should be a great attribute to the Board. <br /> Best regards, <br /> James T.
