UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Duke Energy easement with <br /> authorization for the County Manager to execute the document subject to review <br /> and revision by the County Attorney. <br /> (F-3) EMS - Authorization to Purchase Ambulances <br /> Staff is requesting authorization to purchase four ambulances using Savvik <br /> buying group at a cost of $154,878.00 each (total $619,512.00) . The ambulance <br /> purchase was included in the FY18 budget adopted on June 19, 2017. Ambulances <br /> are routinely purchased through buying group/cooperative in place of bid <br /> requests. <br /> UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board approved the purchase of four ambulances <br /> using Savvik buying group at a cost of $154,878.00 each (total $619,512.00) . <br /> (F-4) SRCAA - Letter of Recommendation <br /> The Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency (SRCAA) reached out to the <br /> County Manager, requesting support from the Board for the appointment of Mr. <br /> Wendell Fant as a permanent member to the SRCAA Board of Directors representing <br /> Cabarrus County. Mr. Fant is currently employed by Cabarrus County Schools and <br /> formerly held the position of Deputy District Director (Concord, NC) for the <br /> House of Representatives. <br /> The Agency is governed by a 15-member board of directors. The board is <br /> comprised of one-third elected public officials (or their representatives) , <br /> one-third major interest groups representing business/industry/labor/religion <br /> /education, etc. and one-third representing the poor in the service area. <br /> Although the Board of Commissioners does not have appointing authority to <br /> the SRCAA board of directors, their recommendation and support is considered. <br /> UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board approved a recommendation letter for a <br /> permanent board member on the Salisbury-Rowan Community Action Agency Board of <br /> Directors. <br /> (F-5) Tax Administration - Refund and Release Reports - June 2017 <br /> The Release Report contains taxpayers' names, bill numbers, valuations, <br /> tax amounts, along with the justifications for releasing the valuation/tax <br /> amounts for outstanding levies in accordance with N.C.G.S. 105-381. The Refund <br /> Report is a summary sheet which lists data from each refund request form, along <br /> with the justification for the refunds to the taxpayers in accordance <br /> with N.C.G.S. 105-381. <br /> UPON MOTION by Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Kiger <br /> and unanimously carried, the Board approved the June 2017 Refund and Release <br /> Reports as submitted, including the NCVTS Refund Report, and granted authority <br /> to the Tax Collector to process the refunds and releases. The reports are hereby <br /> incorporated into the minutes by reference, and is on file with the Clerk to <br /> the Board. <br /> (F-6) Tax Administration - Tax Collector's Annual Settlement and Order <br /> Authorizing Collection of FY 2017-2018 Taxes <br /> The Tax Collector is required by N.C.G.S. 105-373 to give an annual <br /> settlement on current and delinquent taxes to the governing body for review and <br /> approval. The settlement report for fiscal year 2016-2017 is attached. This <br /> report contains real, personal and motor vehicle delinquent taxes that remain <br /> unpaid for the fiscal year. These lists are recharged to the Tax Collector for <br /> collection.
