CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF • • <br />* <br />REGULAR <br />¢ TN eA BO <br />O 1 <br />� / <br />1 P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />NCACC - Resolutions of Support <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />At its January 13, 2016 meeting, the North Carolina Association of County <br />Commissioners (NCACC) adopted resolutions supporting the Connect NC <br />bond package and the Health Together NC statewide wellness initiative. <br />The Connect NC bond package will be on the May primary ballot, and <br />includes funds for community colleges and water /sewer projects. The <br />Healthy Together NC initiative from Prevention Partners, seeks to build <br />healthier communities through a suite of products that guide schools, <br />workplaces, hospitals and clinics to address the leading causes of <br />preventable disease: tobacco use, poor nutrition, physical inactivity and <br />obesity. The Healthy Together NC campaign hopes to reach at least 10 <br />organizations in all 100 counties by 2025, including county governments. <br />Attached are copies of the resolutions adopted by the NCACC, as well as <br />copies for consideration by the Board of County Commissioners. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to adopt a Resolution Supporting Connect NC Bond Act. <br />Motion to adopt a Resolution Supporting Prevention Partners Statewide <br />Wellness Initiative. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />F -6 Page 71 <br />
