DUKE ENERGY'S HELPING HOME FUND <br />Memorandum of Understanding <br />North Carolina Community Action Association MOU # 2016 - 3200 <br />This Memorandum of Understanding ( "Memorandum ") is entered into as of March 22, 2016 by and <br />between the North Carolina Community Action Association (hereinafter referred to as "NCCAA ") and <br />Cabarrus County Planning & Development Services (herein referred to as "Service Provider ") for the <br />Duke Energy's Helping Home Fund. NCCAA and the Service Provider are herein collectively referred to as <br />"Parties" and individually as "Party". <br />WHEREAS, the Parties desire to assist low- income customers with managing their energy costs by <br />making energy efficiency improvements at the customer's residence in the state of North Carolina. <br />Helping Home Funds will be distributed to parties involved in assisting low- income customers with <br />energy efficiency upgrades. <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the foregoing, NCCAA will: <br />• Allocate the Helping Home Funds by [juke Energy service territory, county, and program as <br />detailed in Schedule A of this Memorandum; <br />• Provide a data tracking and reporting system;. <br />• Supply marketing guidelines and templates that follow Duke Energy's branding requirements; <br />• Provide program training and guidance; <br />® Conduct quality control /quality assurance visits; <br />• Maintain a website for distribution of information including program contacts and complaint <br />resolution process; and <br />• Reimburse the Service Provider upon completion and invoicing of work completed. <br />In recognition of the foregoing, the Service Provider agrees to participate in the distribution of the Duke <br />Energy's Helping Home Fund, as follows: <br />1. Utilize funds as identified in Schedule A of this Memorandum for the benefit of Duke Energy's low - <br />income electric customers for; <br />• Health and safety projects; <br />• Weatherization projects (Duke Energy Progress territory only); <br />• Heating repair and replacement projects; and <br />• Vendor payments for equipment installation /repair. <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />F -5 Page 82 <br />
