Or that at any time there are on <br />average more than 7,000 head of cattle in Cabarrus County? Where would you go if you <br />wanted to learn more about these, or about the past and current practices of agriculture <br />in Cabarrus County? <br />The Lomax Center for Agricultural Education hopes to develop an exhibit that highlights <br />the history of agriculture in Cabarrus County complete with old tools and farm <br />equipment and a short film documenting those people who have been instrumental in <br />agriculture over the last half century and more. Housed at Lomax Farm, this archive <br />can grow to serve future generations as agricultural <br />technology and practices change. <br />• Sharing the history of agriculture in Cabarrus <br />County <br />• Documenting present agricultural development <br />efforts <br />• Remembering those who have farmed and <br />supported farming in our community. <br />19 <br />G -6 Page 191 <br />
