We cultivate a new generation of farmers and food leaders, <br />and develop viable employment and meaningful careers through the <br />collaboration of the farming and military communities. We aspire to lead <br />the national effort connecting veterans to agriculture. We believe that <br />veterans possess the unique skills and character needed to strengthen <br />rural communities and create sustainable food systems for all. We believe <br />that food production offers purpose, opportunity, and physical and <br />psychological benefits. <br />The Lomax Agricultural Learning Center hopes to partner with the Farmer Veteran <br />Coalition and local veteran organizations to support veterans in our region who aspire to <br />learn more about the occupational opportunities in agriculture. This will mean creating <br />awareness regarding the different learning opportunities at the Lomax Center but also <br />using the network and resources of Farmer Veteran Coalition to make connections <br />between Lomax and aspiring farmer veterans. <br />23 <br />G -6 Page 195 <br />
