CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF • • <br />* <br />REGULAR <br />¢ TN eAR° �jr MAY 16 20 <br />� / <br />1 P .M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Sheriff's Office - Memorandum of Agreement with Rowan County Allowing <br />Use of Backup 911 Center <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The State of North Carolina 911 Board requires all 911 centers to have a <br />backup 911 center in case of an outage at the primary site. Rowan <br />County Communications approached us about using the Cabarrus County <br />Sheriff's Office Communications Center backup site as their backup 911 <br />center. <br />It is requested that Cabarrus County enter into a Memorandum of <br />Agreement with Rowan County, permitting Rowan County to install certain <br />equipment and technology necessary for the operation of Rowan County's <br />backup 911 center in the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office backup 911 <br />center. Rowan County will purchase all necessary equipment in order to <br />facilitate their staff in Cabarrus County at no cost to Cabarrus County. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the Memorandum of Agreement with Rowan County to <br />provide an area for a backup 911 site. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Chief Deputy Paul Hunt <br />Lieutenant Ray Gilleland <br />F -6 Page 108 <br />
