David Pofahl
F Westley Pegg <wpegg @universalsteelinc.com>
Selic: Friday, June 24, 2016 10:51 AM
To: David Pofahl
Cc: Jerry Anderson
Subject: RE: ROES - PCO #001
Attachments: Royal Oaks CP #1 Revised with Backup.pdf
David,
I went back through our steel portion of the change order with Daniel. He actually went through the drawings and gave me the
prices for our portion of the work. He said that the way he took the changed drawings off he did not have a breakdown of each
piece. He did say that what he did was go through and credit the old add the new. However, because some of the areas
effected had changes to the hole framing of the building that it was easier to take what he had originally found for each
wing(number of pieces and total weight) and credit it all. Then add it all back up again and take the difference as the change. I
think in truth, looking at it a little closer for me, it is really not enough to fret over. I have decided to call the fabricated steel
portion a wash so that we can move forward and make sure the subs get paid for their work.
I have also attached backup for the engineering and detailing. I would like to note a few things regarding this, since Moseley was
questioning these amounts. Our engineer had submitted all of his calculations before we were made aware of the changed
drawings. So, he had to go back and incorporate the design changes that were made and resubmit his calculations. The detailer
had a similar situation where they had submitted anchor bolts drawings, embed drawings, and lintel drawings. All of which had
to be revised and resubmitted along with changes made to areas that had not been submitted.
Also, the rates in our CP are our rates, so the hours may not match up perfectly to our subs but we try to make sure the amounts
are the same. If they have any other questions just or if you have any concerns with what I have done, let me know.
Thanks,
Westley Pegg
Project Manager
A&
Universal Steel of NC, LLC
630 Bassett Drive
Thomasville, NC 27360
Direct Line: 336 -474 -2868
Fax: 336 - 476 -8895
Email: wpegg(a universalsteelinc.com
From: David Pofahl [mailto: d( isonfoard.com
F `.: Wednesday, June 22, 2016 4:39 PM
l _ .
