CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF • • <br />* <br />REGULAR <br />ff S EPTEMBER • 2016 <br />1 <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />ALP - Agreement with NC Wildlife Commission for Rob Wallace Park <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The NC Wildlife Resource Commission (NCWRC) has agreed to design <br />and construct a universally accessible fishing pier at the pond on Phase 1 <br />property at Rob Wallace Park. NCWRC met with Kyle Bilafer, <br />Area Manager, and Active Living and Parks Department staff on site to <br />review the site and project. <br />Highlights of the agreement include the following: <br />NCWRC will serve as the manager of the construction project, apply for <br />and comply with permits, provide construction drawings of the fishing pier <br />for review and approval from the County, provide all construction materials <br />and labor, and be responsible for future necessary repairs to major <br />infrastructure for the fishing pier. Additionally, NCWRC will provide an <br />informational kiosk and stock the pond with sport fish. <br />Cabarrus County will be responsible to design and construct a universally <br />accessible approach walkway to the fishing pier (part of Phase 1 project), <br />responsible for routine maintenance, provide appropriate outdoor trash <br />receptacles, maintain the property, and ensure proper recognition for <br />NCWRC. <br />The County Attorney has reviewed the contract and pointed out two items <br />to review. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Approve the Agreement between the NC Wildlife Resource Commission <br />F -1 Page 51 <br />
