September 22, 2016 <br />Pam and Jonathan, <br />Site Analysis for Replacement Elementary School <br />The 10 -Year Facilities Plan identified the need and concept for replacing the R. Brown McAllister <br />Elementary School with a larger school located generally in close proximity to the campus. CCS staff has <br />looked at several options for property to house the replacement school. One option we would like to <br />investigate is to use the current school site of R. Brown McAlister which is 33.72 acres. The site has some <br />access and topography challenges so we would like to conduct some Engineering /Land Planning analysis <br />to determine if this site may work as a possible replacement option before we pursue other <br />properties. CCS seeking funding of $30,000 to conduct various geotechnical studies and civil concepts <br />to determine if the remainder of the R. Brown McAllister property is a suitable school replacement <br />site. The CCS BOE voted on September 19 to request the County consider funding this study. I'm <br />prepared to present this item to the Commissioners on their October 3 rd work session, should you allow <br />it to be added to your agenda. <br />Thank you, <br />G.
