RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF CITY OF CONCORD SURPLUS <br />PERSONAL PROPERTY TO CABARRUS COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Concord owns certain personal property described as a <br />large metal pre- fabricated storage unit (the "Property "); and <br />WHEREAS the Property is located on land owned by Cabarrus County and <br />situated on Hwy 49 near Central Cabarrus High School; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has no use for the Property; and <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County is using the Property as an EMS base; and <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County staff has requested that the City donate the <br />Property to Cabarrus County; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute § 160A -280 allows cities to donate to <br />another governmental unit any personal property, including supplies, materials, and <br />equipment, that the governing board deems to be surplus, obsolete, or unused. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Concord City Council <br />does hereby declare that: <br />1. The Property herein described is surplus to the needs of the City; <br />2. The Property shall be donated to Cabarrus County in accordance with <br />G.S. § 160A -280; and <br />3. The City Manager, City Clerk, and City Attorney are authorized to execute <br />necessary documents to achieve this donation. <br />Adopted this 13 day of November, 2014. <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF CONCORD <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />
