UPDATED <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 20, 2015 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />Infrastructure & Asset Management - Office Renovations in Courthouse <br />and Courthouse Annex <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Courthouse Annex renovation included creating rough space for new <br />offices as well as new records storage areas. The Department of Public <br />Safety (DPS) has received approval for six additional staff positions and <br />will need office space for that staff. Two areas have been identified in the <br />Courthouse Annex to create those offices and a basic plan for those <br />renovations has been prepared. <br />In addition, the District Attorney's (DA) office has need for new workroom <br />and conference space in their office area. The new records storage area <br />has helped free up space for those renovations and basic plans have <br />been drawn for the proposed renovations. <br />Total projected costs will be presented with funding recommendations <br />after bids are received. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to authorize design services and informal bidding for additional <br />office renovation and construction for the Courthouse and Courthouse <br />Annex. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Michael Miller, Infrastructure & Asset Management Assistant Director <br />F -7 Page 85 <br />
