Coborrus County Transportation Services (CCTS) Finol Report — September 2015 <br />disabled passengers, accessible stops also have an added benefit of marketing to non- <br />disabled passengers and even non - transit users, who might be enticed by a bus shelter or <br />concrete pad. <br />Kannapolis Train Station and Intercity Bus in Concord <br />The Carolinian and Piedmont Amtrak routes make stops at the Kannapolis Train Station <br />at 201 South Main Street in Kannapolis. The Carolinian makes two daily round trips <br />between Charlotte and Raleigh. The Piedmont makes one daily round trip between <br />Charlotte and New York. The station already serves as a major transit hub for CK Rider <br />Transit as both the Brown and Blue lines interconnect here. The Kannapolis Train Station <br />has the fourth highest average daily boarding in the CK Rider Transit system. <br />Intercity bus service is provided by Greyhound. A Greyhound stop is located near the I -85 <br />interchange with Cannon Boulevard at the Cash and Carry, in Concord. The stop is 1 mile <br />north of CK Rider Downtown Concord Transit Center. The intercity bus stop is serviced by <br />the CK Rider Transit Blue Line. <br />Dialysis Clinics <br />The dialysis clinics in Cabarrus County are high frequency destinations for CCTS, as are <br />lunch plus nutrition sites and active adult centers. All of these locations are also on CK <br />Rider Transit bus lines. <br />The following high frequency CCTS destinations that are also CK Rider Transit bus stop <br />sites should be inventoried to see if they can be made more accessible to persons with <br />disabilities and more enticing to the general public (note inventory of bus stops is already in <br />the CK Rider Transit 5 year plan): <br />• Davita Dialysis — Kannapolis <br />• Kannapolis Lunch Plus Club Site <br />• Davita Dialysis — Copperf"ield <br />• Vocational Opportunity work site (CVO) <br />• McLeod Center — Concord <br />• Coltrane Life Center <br />• Concord Lunch Plus Club Site <br />All of these locations have potential to be mini - transit hubs. <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />F -3 Page 162 <br />
