Coborrus County Transportation Services (CCTS) <br />Finol Report — September 2015 <br />Centralina Council of Government has established a volunteer program for the Metrolina <br />Region. The Volunteer Transportation Services (or VTS) was created in 2013 to fill the <br />transportation gap for adults with <br />permanent or temporary disabilities, <br />'doT 7-7:� <br />VTS is currently maintaining a <br />passenger inquiry list for people <br />interested in being passengers in <br />Anson, Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, <br />Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, <br />Stanly, and Union Counties. <br />Service is contingent upon <br />recruiting and training certified <br />volunteer drivers. <br />veterans, and individuals 50 and over, in order <br />to enhance quality of life by providing access to daily life activities. VTS was awarded a <br />grant to support Centralina Connection to advertise and manage the volunteer <br />transportation service. This funding was made available through a NCDOT Public <br />Transportation Division Section 5310 funding grant, submitted by Centralina Mobility <br />Management. <br />9.8 STEERING COMMITTEE REACTION TO THE ALTERNATIVES <br />A series of 22 proposed improvements were presented to the Steering Committee for <br />discussion. The tables below show proposed initiatives that received strong support from <br />the Steering Committee (in blue) and a few proposed initiatives that the Steering <br />Committee had little interest in pursuing (in Red). The remaining proposed initiatives <br />were neither strongly supported nor objectionable (in Black). The proposed initiatives are <br />listed below using the same initiative number that was presented at the Steering <br />Committee #2. Maps and funding sheets for proposed initiatives (adopting the same <br />number convention) were also distributed for reference (full detail of cost assumptions, <br />funding summaries and potential funding sources can be found in Appendix Q. <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />F -3 <br />Page 165 <br />
