INVENTORY OF CURRENT CCTS SERVICE <br />CHARACTERISTICS <br />2.1 SYSTEM OVERVIEW <br />Services and Operating Hours <br />COTS serves eligible residents of Cabarrus County, including <br />individuals with disabilities, older adults, and clients of <br />human service agencies, and has historically provided the <br />COTS provides ADA paratransit services for CK Rider in the <br />cities of Concord and Kannapolis. COTS also provides on- <br />demand (demand- response) rural general public (RGP) <br />transportation services and subscription services for <br />residents of rural areas of Cabarrus County. In FY 2014, <br />over 94 percent of COTS trips were contract trips, all for the <br />MODES OF CCTS SERVICE <br />Demand Response Service — <br />Individual passengers can request a <br />ride from one specific location to <br />another specific location at a certain <br />time. Vehicles providing demand - <br />response service do not follow a fixed <br />route, but rather transport passengers <br />according to their specific requests. <br />This is a shared ride service that <br />requires advance reservations. <br />Subscription Service — Trips that are <br />scheduled from a passenger's home <br />to the same destination at the same <br />time at least two days a week on a <br />continuing basis (e.g., dialysis trips). <br />Advance reservations are required. <br />ADA Service — Paratransit services <br />for persons with disabilities who are <br />unable to use the regular CK Rider <br />fixed route public transit service <br />because of their disability. Service is <br />available primary during CK Rider <br />operating hours. Eligibility <br />determination and advanced <br />reservations are required. <br />Cabarrus County DHS. COTS does not currently contract with any other departments of <br />local government or human service agencies. The remaining COTS trips (6 percent) were <br />RGP trips. COTS does not operate any fixed route services. <br />Demand - responsive services are provided within Cabarrus County seven days a week <br />between 4:30 am and 9:00 pm. Sunday service was recently added to complement CK <br />Rider's Sunday service. COTS only travels outside of Cabarrus County for Medicaid trips. <br />These trips are provided on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Out -of- county <br />destinations include Charlotte, Albemarle, Winston - Salem, Salisbury, and <br />Raleigh /Durham/Chapel Hill. <br />Attachment number 1 \n <br />F -3 Page 87 <br />three types of services described in the box to the right. <br />
