CONCEPT OF OPERATIONS <br />Cabarrus Amateur Radio Emergency Service <br />a. Report to the EOC, as requested. <br />o A radio room is located next to the EOC and available for ARES operations. <br />o ARES has additional space available at CMC- NorthEast. <br />b. Coordinate with the Sheriff's Department Communications Lieutenant to provide <br />supplemental radio communications during emergency response and recovery. <br />c. Provide back -up communications in case of failure of County Communications system. <br />d. Provide support across a number of different modes of communications (voice, digital video, <br />satellite). <br />e. Provide amateur radio support for the following: <br />o Outlying areas of the County <br />o ARC shelters <br />o Points of distribution <br />o Points of dispensing <br />o CRDP <br />f. ARES has a club trailer with HF (digital), UHF, and VHF capabilities. The Charlotte ARES <br />group has an ATV repeater that could be requested. <br />g. Prepare the facility(ies) to support emergency response and recovery.
