• Provide public information on the location, hours, and process followed for <br />the feeding schedule. <br />6) Social and Community Program Services <br />• Provide crisis counseling and referral services to long -term behavioral health <br />resources during and after an emergency. <br />• Provide community information such as laundry facilities, pharmacies, <br />employment, schools, transportation, social services, faith -based <br />organizations, banking, financial assistance, and support groups. This will be <br />important for shelter residents who are unfamiliar with the area in which they <br />are currently seeking shelter and/or if their previous homes have become <br />uninhabitable due to damage caused by the emergency. <br />• Direct shelter residents to social/human service agencies for replacement of <br />identification and transfer of pre- existing benefits and services (Social <br />Security, food stamps, driver's licenses, etc.). <br />• Contact local law firms and legal services organizations to seek support in <br />donated time and services to legal clinics prior to an emergency and offer <br />these services to shelter residents upon initiating case management at the <br />shelter. <br />7) Health/Medical Support Services <br />• Activate health and medical services as needed to support shelter residents <br />upon shelter activation. <br />+ Ensure regular health department inspections of shelter and feeding sites are <br />conducted. <br />• Provide information on local healthcare resources to shelter residents upon <br />completing registration. <br />• Activate and use a transportation plan for moving shelter residents to <br />hospitals or other healthcare facilities. <br />• Request and coordinate the need for additional health/medical support <br />services as needed. <br />• Coordinate and transfer medical records. <br />• Review medical and mortuary support system for surge capacity /needs. <br />• Provide expanded behavioral health support. <br />Cabarrus County EOP — Annex L — Shelter and Mass Care <br />F -6 <br />Attachment number 12 <br />Page 272 <br />
