during reunification. <br />• Disseminate household pet reunification information and requirements to the <br />public. <br />• Provide fostering and adoption information to the public for unclaimed or <br />abandoned animals after a predetermined waiting period and efforts to reunite <br />owners and household pets. <br />9) Law Enforcement Support Services <br />• Determine if local law enforcement services will be required at the shelter(s) <br />prior to shelter activation. <br />• Coordinate law enforcement operations at sites sheltering or processing <br />shelter residents. <br />• Conduct facility screening, secure the perimeter, control access, and evaluate <br />the need for a roving patrol and monitor community influence in and around <br />shelter. <br />• Screen shelter residents for security issues, possession of illegal drugs, etc. <br />• Use a badging /credentialing system if needed. <br />• Manage the collection/securing of weapons and illegal drugs, if applicable. <br />+ Implement procedures for managing shelter residents subject to judicial <br />and/or administrative orders restricting their freedom of movement (for <br />example, parolees, sex offenders, individuals with outstanding warrants). <br />Conduct criminal history records search as needed. <br />• Request and coordinate with Cabarrus County Emergency Management <br />regarding the need for additional security support. <br />10) Transportation Support Services <br />• Notify and activate transportation resources required for support upon <br />activation of the shelter. <br />• Arrange for transportation for transportation- assisted shelter residents.
