CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />• P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: <br />County Manager - Proposed Cellco Tower Lease at Mt. Pleasant <br />Communications Tower <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cellco Tower (d /b /a Verizon Wireless) has requested to lease space on <br />the county -owned Mt. Pleasant Communications Tower, including the use <br />of an equipment building. The lease proposal is for two five -year terms <br />with an annual rental of $24,000. That amount will increase by 10% in the <br />second five -year term. In addition, there will be a one -time payment of <br />$9,600 for the use of the equipment building for each five -year period. The <br />County Attorney is currently working with Cellco on the final lease terms. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve lease terms and authorize the County Manager and <br />County Attorney to negotiate the lease and to execute the contract. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Jonathan B.
