J <br />LOCALLY 6ROWN <br />NC COOPERATIVE <br />EXTENSION <br />JIIIIIIIIIIIIII Cabarrus County Center # <br />UNC C;HAIPI"ME - <br />College of Arts + Architecture <br />Lomax Agricultural Learning Center <br />Program Development Plan <br />2 <br />Other organizations operating at the Lomax Agricultural Learning Center <br />will include: <br />L02Max Community Garden <br />A program for families who want to learn more about gardening and producing food for <br />their families. <br />Central United Methodist of Concord /Cooperative Christian Ministry <br />A program producing vegetables to be distributed as part of the ongoing effort to help <br />make food available to those in need. <br />GO Local NC Farms <br />Providing an online marketplace for locally grown, raised and produced food products <br />and serving farmers and customers alike by aggregating ordered products and delivering <br />them to locations throughout the Charlotte. <br />Cabarrus Homebrewers Society <br />A project serving as a trial to see if this Hops can be raised as an economically <br />productive crop in our region, adding another option for a diversified farming operation. <br />Cabarrus County Beekeepers <br />Maintaining a hive for pollination purposes and to help novice beekeepers learn the <br />skills they need to successful keep bees as part of their farming operation. <br />Cannon School <br />Working with UNCC to model a medium -scale composting system for use on school <br />campuses. <br />Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City Schools - Offering access to local students <br />who want to learn more about agriculture. <br />Attachment number 3 <br />G -2 Page 187 <br />
