• The Department has entered in to a contract with ARC of North Carolina to assume a <br />few guardianship cases using state allocated funds. The Department continues to be the <br />sole public guardian source for the county. <br />• The Community Resource Connection held a partners training and strategic meeting and <br />continues to expand in providers using the system. <br />• The Home and Care Community Block Grant received further reductions due to <br />federal /state cuts. <br />The Department continues to implement consolidation through strategic planning. The <br />following goals are set forth for fiscal year 2013 -14: <br />• Develop a 5 year strategic plan for the Human Services Model <br />• Analyze for efficiencies within the Department while maintaining and expanding <br />services when possible <br />• Conduct community outreach sessions regarding the structure of Human Services <br />• Promote a positive work environment that recognizes success, addresses challenges, <br />and promotes positive outcomes for citizens <br />all <br />Attachment number 1 <br />J -2 Page 533 <br />
