• Number of Cases within In Home Services as of June 30, 2013: 100 <br />• Number of children in foster care custody as of June 30, 2013: 86 <br />• Number of petitions filed for custody from April -June 2013: 8 (17 children total) <br />• Number of foster children moved to permanence from April -June 2013: 6 <br />Critical Trends: <br />• Cheryl Harris accepted and started in June as the new Program Administrator for Child <br />Welfare. Cheryl brings over 20 years of experience in Child Welfare. We welcome her to <br />our team. <br />• Sharon Waddell accepted and started in July as a Foster Care supervisor. The <br />department welcomes her. <br />• The Division will be undergoing a Title IV -E audit in August <br />• The state has agreed to provide training to the Division regarding coding of services in <br />August <br />• April was one of the busiest in recent times for new reports, with over 240 received in a <br />month <br />• Potential funding impacts are still pending with the state budget <br />IV. Adult and Aging Services <br />Key Statistics: <br />• 91 reports of adult abuse /neglect /exploitation received from April -June 2013 <br />• 1,322 inquiries for service phone calls <br />• 1,270 requests for Crisis Financial Assistance (General Assistance) with 149 receiving <br />approval <br />• 40 active guardianship cases as of June, 2013 <br />• 15 active Title V participants <br />• 55 active Work First cases as of June, 2013 <br />• 4 unclaimed bodies processed for the quarter <br />• 206 total active cases with Community Alternatives Program (CAP) <br />Critical Trends: <br />• The new Medicaid billing system has been implemented, NC Tracks.
