Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance <br />Chapter 2 -Rules of Construction and Definitions <br />CAST CONCRETE - A construction product produced by casting concrete in a reusable mold <br />or forms which is then cured in a controlled environment, transported to a construction site <br />and lifted into place. <br />CATERING SERVICE - A business the primary purpose of which is preparation of food not <br />consumed on site. <br />CEMETERY - Property used for the interment of the dead, which may also include commercial <br />sale and location of burial lots, crypts, or vaults for use exclusively on subject property. A <br />cemetery shall not be used for the preparation or embalming of bodies or the cremation of <br />bodies. This definition shall include pet cemeteries. <br />CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY - The certificate issued by Cabarrus County Building <br />Standards, indicating that all required building and service systems have been inspected for <br />compliance with the Building Code and other applicable laws and ordinances and that the <br />Building, or portion of the Building, may be occupied or used. <br />CHANGE OF USE - A change from one principal use of a building or parcel of land to another <br />principal use of the building or parcel of land. <br />CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING - Facilities primarily engaged in the manufacture of chemicals. <br />CIVIC GROUP CAMP FACILITY - These types of establishments typically provide recreational <br />or educational opportunities for school age children or adults. These types of facilities may <br />or may not include overnight accommodations for camp participants. Examples include but <br />are not limited to: Religious Institution Camps or Retreats, Boy Scout Camps, and Girl Scout <br />Camps. <br />CIVIC ORGANIZATION FACILITY - A meeting place for organizations that promote civic <br />enhancement including but not limited to: Jaycees, Rotary Club, Masons, Chamber of <br />Commerce, Lions Club, VFW, American Legion, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. <br />COLISEUM - A large theater or building for public meetings, sporting events, exhibitions, <br />etc. <br />COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY - An institution providing full -time or part -time education beyond the <br />high school level which may also include lodging or housing for students or faculty. <br />COMBINE -...Q reatQ one lot by combining two or more lots to meet development standards. <br />COMMERCIAL VEHICLE - Any motor vehicle with a manufacturer's chassis rating greater <br />than one ton.$ <br />COMMUNICATIONS TOWER, 911 COMMUNICATIONS TOWER - A tower which supports <br />communication (broadcast, receiving, or relay) equipment, utilized by government or other <br />public and quasi - public users.
